Once you know which half contains the problem mod(s) you can disable half of that half and doing it all over again (check which quarter has the problem mod).
Since it's Red Rocked and Sanctuary, two of the most used settlements, are those two locations heavily expanded upon with buildings and stuff? Bethesda put in place some pretty restrictive limits on how much stuff you can build at a location but removing those restrictions and going completely overboard can have a huge impact on performance and even causing game crashes if your system can't handle it (usually it runs out of RAM/VRAM and crashes).Īnother thing you can try is fast travelling to a nearby location (Concord or Vault 111) and approaching from there.įor troubleshooting purposes you could also try doing a dichotomic search: disable half your mods and see if it fixes it, if it does then it's probable that the mod(s) causing it were in the half you just disabled. Also keep in mind that sometimes game updates break UI mods, so usually a good way to start troubleshooting is disabling UI mods (this was the case with Automatron and more recent game updates and certain UI mods).
